1) Why am I so against spending $4 (or less) on lunch pre-purchased from the supermarket, but okay with spending $5 (or more) to go out and get the same thing?

2) Why do some people consistently bring so many bags with them to work. I’m not talking on special occasion days, but the people you see day in and out with four bags (duffles, sacks, bags, cases, etc.)… what are they bringing into work?

Supermarket lunches don’t taste as good.

Bags, I bring two. A briefcase and a gym bag for working out.

The other day someone put a big Costco container of nuts out for people to eat. It wasn’t open. I opened the lid, and there was a big paper circle glued to the top, you know, a secondary lid to keep the nuts sealed and fresh. Just for the fun of it, I pulled out my pocket knife and cut a small hole big enough for one nut to come out right in the middle of the white circle. I wonder how many people will try and shake nuts out of that hole before someone rips the paper circle off the top.

talk about weird, I just read about this Costco prank: http://www.cockeyed.com/pranks/costco/costco1.php

in other news, 2 is a perfectly reasonable number of bags and soup is soup to me; why can’t I just bring it from home?!

That is AWESOME!
I love the Costco tags.
Infant Skull Replica, great.
Vinyl Dungeon Restraints, awesome.

I spent ten minutes laughing.

Bag people – we have them in my work too: laptop bag, backpack/handbag, supermarket bag etc. Why can’t they put them in the one bag? I bet inside them bags, they have bags of bags. They just have “stuff” inside.

They’re all weird, that’s the only conclusion I can come to.

I usually have 2: handbag and bookbag. Why anybody needs more is beyond me. I mean, who really needs to work out after working all day? I’m curious about the percentage of people who bring multiple bags. Most people I work with only bring one or two. You must have a higher than average amount of bag people.

2) I’m not sure I want to know…
Nobody at my work brings more than one, as far as I’m aware…

27 04 2010

I’ve never come across people at work multi-bagging before, I should take a 2nd bag to work one day to see if anyone asks why
I go to work & leave my other bag at home. She’s usually still asleep when I leave…
Only joking 😀

I am the crazy work bag lady. I never intended it but it happened.
My purse – then a bag with lunch/snacks – then a gym bag…and if I have to bring my laptop…it gets really out of control. Especially when I’m also trying to carry my coffee in the morning.

27 04 2010

This makes you an impulse buyer. When you have time to think about it…you don’t do it.

Or…you just love french fries.

27 04 2010

Wait. Are all those extra bags emptier or fuller at the end of the work day?

28 04 2010

i work with engineers. it’s a good day when they are fully dressed. haven’t seen more than gym bags and lunch bags…

but i must be off to costco to re-label me some shelves! that’s brilliant!

cs: but what kind of stuff that they can’t be 8/9 hours without???

S.le: Acceptable number!

bevchen: Two seems logical… some of these people have luggage! Daily!

Tony: *ba dum ching!*

Melissa: But is that everyday? Plus, the gym bag probably looks like a gym bag… do you carry that all into/out of the office?

MTAE: Mmmm, french fries. Who has those at 9am?

Lavenderbay: They look full at the end of the day. Funny, now that you mention it, I don’t often see these excessive baggers in the morning.

daisyfae: Engineers with pants= good day. I L-O-V-E-D that prank… loved it loved it. Now I’m going to have to consistently check for pieces of tree.

The purchased lunch is worth more b/c it’s FUN! As for the bags – it’s for all the pilfered supplies.. staplers, pens, paper pads, laptops, printers, copy machine..

Hope you’re feeling well babe!

Related to #1: I won’t pay $5 to go out to lunch, but I will happily plunk down $4 for coffee at Starbucks. Go figure.

28 04 2010

I’m with Dennis and the Starbucks thing..It’s just crazy the amount of money we spend on junk. When I worked as a secretary in a large hospital the nurses always showed up with their luggage bag “Coach/Gucci” purses, lunch bags and then their huge knitting bags. so much junk laying around the desk area.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but mine are filled with weapons.

I just snorted diet coke through my nose…I assume you meant it to be funny, if not where do you work…I’ll make a wide berth or try not to piss you off.

I’m pretty sure, being that we’re in North America and not South Africa, that we’re safe.
Though, I wouldn’t put it past him.

dishy: Ohhhhh, that’s what that’s for? I thought it was to keep nosy Annoyances out of my stash of Frank’s Hot Sauce.

Dennis/Jim: That’s what I’m talking about! There’s FREE coffee in the office, yet, I PAY for it from Tim Hortons…

hisqueen: I didn’t even consider the space aspect of it all…

Enna: Think of the Senoritas!

Dolce: You didn’t mention luggage… you’re not one of those people. Unless you take your lunchbag on four-wheels.

Connie: Those SLR camera bags are MONSTERS. MONSTERS!

nat: This is my surprised faced. OH!

People who bring many bags to work bring them empty and leave work with them full. They steal.
