Smoking

7 04 2010

First and foremost, if you smoke, I don’t care.
Really, I don’t.
I have many friends who smoke and whatever, it’s your choice and you’ve heard it all before; I’m not here to lecture you.

However, I do care that you smoke within 3 inches of the door/entrance of a public building.
I know it’s raining/snowing/sunny. I understand that no one likes to get wet.
I also know that I hate walking through a cloud of smoke to get in/out of a building. Especially seeing as NYS law pretty much dictates that you have to be 20  feet away.

And WTF is up with you people who stick FLAMMABLE PAPER OBJECTS in the butt bucket?

You know what smells worse than 100 snubbed out smokes?
100 snubbed out smokes on fire.
Filters aren’t supposed to burn.

Also, if you’re going to smoke in public, please, watch your lit end…
A baggage handler dropped ash on my Harrods Bear and I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve found little round holes on my personal items.

Today’s rant brought to you by: The train operator who smokes 3 feet from the door, thus blowing all of his smoke into the car.

I find it annoying those irresponsible smokers who does not respect the space of others. Many times I have been burnt by a lit cigar and I retaliate by a sharp look in the eye. Apologize these people do but they never change their ways. 🙂

Agreed! I got a package via FedEx last week and it reeked of cigarettes! Thankfully the contents of said package did not.

What has happened to your belongings is unconscionable!

as the “crabbyoldfart” would say “assclowns” all of them..
the hubby smokes but in his den or in the basement when it’s warm.. and much more rarely in the car now since we are trying for a baby.I make sure I tell him the swimmers are affected by his smoking, as my way of trying to get him to quit.

I was driving down the street one day and I thought I noticed this guy walking down the street who I thought looked familiar. His back was to me. As I got closer, I noticed a cigarette in his hand. Rather than extinguish the thing, he just tossed it backwards and to the side right at my car as I drove by.

I absolutely hate people who can’t take care of their trash properly. Hmm. Let me see. Rather than use an ashtray, you throw your lit cigarette in whatever direction the wind takes it in. Rather than extinguish the cigarette, you hope that it goes out by itself and hope it does not start a fire. Genius!

Sorry but a lot of smokers are also inconsiderate a-holes. And also sorry for the rant. I was about to blog about this today, too. 🙂

Walter: You’d think after they burnt so many people, they’d pay attention, but nooooooo.

S.Le: You’re so much more level headed than I! I would have been on the phone with FedEx. Thank goodness your item didn’t stink.

hisqueen: Baby making is a great reason to change all those “negative” little habits. Plus, if he stops now, it’ll be much easier instead of when the baby comes around.

lavenderbay: The smell can not be described… and you can smell it blocks away.

bevchen: As if they can’t wait??!?

thatgirl: that so bugs me when they don’t even snuff it out! inconsiderate…

Glad to see I’m not the only one annoyed by the bad habits of smokers; was going to say smokers bad habits, but I don’t have problems with smokers, just naughty ones.

Yeah they annoy me too, our boss smokes just outside the warehouse door & the stink wafts in, you just can’t unsmell something. I will have to try the paper in the butt container trick, sounds awesome!!!

And smokers seem to have no idea that THEY smell offensive as well, and that the smoke can travel quite a long way – for instance, out of a back yard and into neighbors’ houses. Blech and eeww.
